DESCRIPTION:The Parker Foundation provides free resources to children\, teens\, and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and special needs and their families through funding and facilitating education\, safety\, sports and arts programs. The #BeABuddy 5K celebrates the Be a Buddy Initiative which includes our Peer Buddy and Buddy Ambassador program\, bullying prevention education\, and safety initiatives to connect families with law enforcement and first responders. \nWe Run For Henry! BCBA board member\, Katie Rallo’s son Henry was diagnosed with Autism at age 5. The Parker Foundation was there for them\, in their time of need. “It gave him a place to be accepted\, celebrated and included\, in sports and art\,” says Katie. “We told Henry that Autism was his super power and that while he may struggle some days\, it is to his advantage and he embraces it. We have done this race each year\, and each year\, our team grows\, the support for Henry grows\, and with it\, Henry’s confidence\, self-esteem and pride in who he is grows.
