NEW DATE: September 9th \nMake a Difference One Child at a Time: Free Attorney ad Litem Training set for September 9\, 2022 \nDo you ever ponder about expanding your legal skills and learning about new areas of the law?  Do you also think about the most vulnerable population of our community and how you can help a child’s future?  If you answered yes to these questions\, this training is for you! \nWe have an exciting day planned for you that will result in your knowledge and competence to make a difference in a child’s life by serving as an Attorney ad Litem.  Please join us on Friday\, September 9th\, 2022\, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. where you will hear from experienced attorneys\, judges\, and community providers\, and even a panel of youth that have been through the dependency court process.  You will also earn 8 hours of valuable CLE credits for your attendance. \nThe training is FREE and includes a light breakfast\, lunch\, and a happy hour to follow.  So\, what’s the catch?  The only requirement is that after you complete the training you accept an appointment as an Attorney ad Litem for a child in a dependency case.  We promise that you will have many resources and assistance if needed and this will be one of the most rewarding experiences in your legal career. \nContinental Breakfast: Bagels & Muffins\, Fresh Fruit Display\, OJ & Coffee & sodas \nBoxed Lunch Options: Chicken Salad Croissant\, Roast Beef & Cheddar on Kaiser or a Mediterranean Vegetarian Wrap; all lunches include a bag of chips\, cookies & soda/bottled water \nThis training is being sponsored by the Brevard County Bar Association\, Brevard Family Partnership\, and others as well.  It will be held at the Holiday Inn Cocoa/Space Coast Convention Center at I-95 and Highway 520. \nRegistration is now open and you may register through the website or by email at bcba@brevardbar.org. \nIf you have any questions\, you may contact Scarlett Davidson or Judge Kelly J. SUMMARY:2022 Law Day Contests
DESCRIPTION:The Brevard County Bar Association announces their annual Law Day event. The 2022 Law Day theme\, “Toward a More Perfect Union…The Constitution in Times of Change\,” is set by the American Bar Association. The ABA encourages bar organizations to get involved with the schools in their local area through community engagement sessions and/or contests to engage students in the area of law. \nThis year\, the BCBA will be holding three separate contests for our local area. We will have student essay & poster contests\, which are open to elementary grades (3-5)\, middle school grades (6-8)\, and high school grades (9-12).
